Prairie Soil Carbon Balance Project

The Prairie Soil Carbon Balance Project (PSCB) is a long-term study that measures soil carbon changes from direct seeding. Over 130 fields throughout Saskatchewan were established as benchmark sites in 1997. Those sites have been resampled four times since then - in 1999, 2005, 2011, and in the spring of 2018. Information from the soil testing is used to establish carbon sequestration coefficients for direct seeding.
