Prairie Soil Carbon Balance Project

The PSCB Project is a long-term study that measures soil carbon changes from direct seeding.  Over 130 fields throughout Saskatchewan were established as benchmark sites in 1997.  Those sites have been resampled four times since then - in 1999, 2005, 2011 and in the spring of 2018.  Information from the soil testing is used to establish carbon sequestration coefficients for direct seeding.  The data from the latest sampling will be available in the summer of 2019.
